Local's are friendly and inviting. Polynesia is an island chain and everything is imported so keep in mind it is pricy. We walked to the Yacht club and Rudys, which were fantastic. We had a car and checked out the entire island. A visit to Jus de Fruits de Moorea S. Nice laid back Southern part of Moorea. From there, you can drive to Temae beach min or the beach on the West coast with the big totem. Beautiful Island in general terms.
This part of the Island is our favorite- we've visited Moorea 9 times. As with all islands; the weather and conditions can change quickly and extremely. This area seems to be the most stable. The sun seems to smile on this side of the island more so than other parts.
The coral reefs are abundant and teaming with fish, shark and rays. It's relatively shallow and calm as well. Once again it was an amazing trip. We loved The Sofitel and it's wonderful beach, great food and wonderful staff.
Next time I would rent the car for longer because we didn't have time to drive up to The Belvedere, an amazing look out in Moorea. Moorea is a beautiful island that has one main beach road around it that is easy to navigate and see all the natural beauty that is evident everywhere you look.
There are great places to stay but no highrises which makes it even more charming and desireable. There are many great beachside restaurants to choose from.

It is the most authentic Polynesian dinner and show I've ever seen and it is filled with heart The Tiki Village was the best luau with authentic Tahitian food. Moorea is not an exceptionally large island, but its heart shape is endearingly unique and its topography is among the most memorable in Tahiti. Its interior is a patchwork of bright green valleys stuffed with working plantations and pineapple fields—all surrounded by eight sweeping mountain ridges.
