Second playthrough should be around hours on a harder difficulty than your first playthrough. User Info: savorygerbils. You really have to sprint through the game to get in at 5 hours. If you play slow to normal it'll be around 10 hours. I'm either assuming that you're a fairly new player, or that you're joking. I think it's called playing efficiently, such as upgrading your main weapon ASAP to kill enemies easier and always make sure there is some empty space in your inventory so you can pick new things up.
If you actually rush, speed runners can take this game down around the 3 hours mark, and that's mostly due to the unskippable cutscenes. If you still think sub hours runs are impossible unless you "rush", you really need to get better at this game It seems like a very different approach to playing a game imo.
Most people I know don't take such a systematic and procedural approach to playing games. Speedruns sure, getting the handcannon of course, but your first time through DS2 reminds me so much of Resident Evil 2. A great sequel that really is worthy to the great first game. It takes a maniac to catch a maniac!
