LR6 is already working, even if I installed Darktable too, and sooner or later I will try it. I've received a message from a nice guy who sent me the official LR6 download link, but I have only the LR5 license key, so I am not eligible to use LR6. I simply don't remember why I haven't upgraded to LR6? Possibly I was too happy with LR5.
Just like I am absolutely happy with Premiere Elements 14 from Adobe made or has been making too good products, no need to upgrade. Possibly, this is the reason they went on the subscription pricing model.
Not true that LR5 is the last no subscription version. I use LR 6. I moved it onto a new computer in April I needed a bit of help from Adobe support to get the license sorted but works fine now. If I remember rightly I upgraded from LR5 a few years ago.

Just about all pro-level apps are license-based. Get real. Subscriptions are quite popular and work far better. That list above is just off the top of my head. And all of the applications are "pro-level". Now, some software on the above list allows for a subscription plan. Its a bit like a drug pusher giving you a free sample. Get people hooked and then once they are in, hit them with the the subscrition model. Well subscription ties you to one product, only really work when that product has a monopoly, discourages innovation why encourage people to upgrade, if they are tied in anyway.
